Boeing completed the maiden flight of its latest 737 variant Thursday. The first flight of the “MAX 9” took off from Boeing’s Renton, Wash., assembly line at 1:52 p.m. ET and landed at Seattle's Boeing Field after two hours, 42 minutes of flying.
The plane is the second, and currently largest, installment in the company's 737 MAX family of aircraft. The MAX 9 bests its older sibling – the smaller MAX 8 – by almost nine feet in length.
