Unsurprisingly, Lena Dunham is no fan of Bill O'Reilly.
The actress, a Hillary Clinton supporter who frequently s
peaks out about her progressive views, presented Jessica Chastain with an award at Variety's Power of Women event in NYC, honoring Chastain's support of another of Dunham's favorite organizations, Planned Parenthood.
In between praising Chastain and shouting out Chelsea Clinton, also an honoree, Dunham seized the opportunity to make fun of Bill O'Reilly, following the Fox News host's firing earlier this week.
"We should've known there was something wrong with Bill O'Reilly when he confused a loofah and a falafel," Dunham said, referencing a 2004 lawsuit where an O'Reilly Factor associate producer Andrea Mackris accused O’Reilly of sexual harassment, claiming he offered to fondle her with a "falafel thing" in the shower, meaning to say a "loofah."
"Does anyone remember that?" Dunham joked. "So, this isn't fresh info."
Dunham also thanked one of her table-mates at the event, Gretchen Carlson, the former Fox News host who filed suit against the network's former chairman Roger Ailes. "I'm in the very privileged position to be able to say whatever the (expletive) I want most of the time, but if you work in a corporate infrastructure, the challenge of coming out about sexual harassment is so massive, and to meet a women who surmounted that and bravely made space for other women to do the same is just deeply inspiring."
